🌼 How to Plant Anemones
Anemones are cheerful blooms that grow from small, knobby corms. They are one of the easiest spring flowers to grow and with a little prep, they’ll reward you with a carpet of bright color!
Step 1: Soak Before Planting
Place corms in room-temperature water for 3–4 hours before planting. This helps them wake up and signals that its time to start growing.
Step 2: Pick the Right Spot
Anemones love full to partial sun. Soil should be loose and well-draining.
Step 3: Planting Depth & Spacing
Plant about 2 inches deep. Space them 2-3 inches apart. Plant with flat side up and pointy side down, don't worry too much about the direction as they will find their way!
Step 4: Watering & Care
Water well after planting. Keep the soil slightly moist, not soggy. Plant in fall (mild climates- here in Southern California we plant from Oct-Jan or early spring (cooler climates).
Step 5: Bloom Time
Expect blooms in spring to early summer. Regular picking encourages even more flowers!
